Rob grew up in Gateshead, graduated at Barts and The London in 2001, but moved to New Zealand post-MRCP. He dual trained in Acute and General Medicine, and Intensive Care Medicine, and works full time as an Intensive Care Specialist at Middlemore Hospital in Auckland.
He's on the Board of the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand and is the current Chair of Education, having previously served on the ANZICS Education Committee. His main interests are in developing ICU training and ICM Medical Workforce issues, as well as Organ Donation, currently serving on the ANZICS Brain Death and Organ Donation Committee. He's been involved with setting up the CICM Welfare Special Interest Group, as well as the Intensive Care Network (ICN) in NZ.
