Platform and E-Poster options
State of the Art 2018 offers authors great opportunities to showcase their work to colleagues and professionals from around the world.
We have 5 opportunities for a range of platform and e-poster presentations
Intensive Care Foundation Research Gold Medal: The Intensive Care Foundation wishes to promote and encourage the presentation of the best critical care science in the UK. With this in mind the ICF Research Gold Medal is awarded annually to a young investigator who has shown excellence in science relevant to the intensive care practice. The researcher is usually someone that has completed a substantial body of work (e.g MD/PhD) and should not be in a consultant post. The award process allows a number of finalists to achieve recognition through formal presentation at the ICS State of the Art meeting in front of their peers. The award is open to members and non-members. More details coming soon.
The Cauldron has been revamped for 2018 as a ‘Dragons Den’ style competition. With a theme of ‘Critical Care Gamechangers’, contestants will present their ideas to a distinguished panel of dragons (critical care experts!) on the main stage. The top 5 abstracts will be selected for this session, competing for the ICS Trainee Committee prize for ‘Controversies in Critical Care’. More details available here
The PechaKucha 2018 welcomes, for the first time, entries from nurses and AHPs, as well as doctors in training. The all-new PK is moving out of the conference room and will “pop-up” on podiums around the venue. The topic is 'a day that changed my practice' and presentations should consist of 20 images (slides), each being shown for 20 seconds (total 7 minutes). More details available here
E-Posters are an integral part of the conference. Successful presenters have the opportunity to design their poster online which means there is no longer the need to print or transport your poster. The innovative software is designed to make the design and upload of your e-poster possible in just 10 minutes. The posters are displayed at the Exhibition Hall on large, full high definition 55-inch plasma monitors, while also being accessible on-demand, via review workstations and online, in a mobile-friendly format.
Oral Presentations The top 5 submitted abstracts will be selected for the research and clinical practice oral presentation session at SOA18. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your work in front of peers.
