Caroline Hindley is the Peninsula Base Lead Nurse for Retrieve, the Adult Critical Care Transfer Service (ACCTS), of the South West of England.
Retrieve’s primary aim and focus is to provide critically ill and injured patients in the South West, who require transfer between hospitals, with a high quality service that is equitable across the complex geography.
Retrieve operate a dedicated transfer team from each of its operational bases – one in Launceston, Cornwall, covering the Peninsula sub-region (Devon and Cornwall) and one in Bristol covering the Severn sub-region (Gloucestershire to Somerset).
Caroline, a Critical Care nurse by background, helped develop and subsequently launch the Retrieve service during the autumn of 2020. She is responsible for the operational delivery of the service, supporting a dynamic team of critical care staff and is integral to the continued evolution and development of the service.
A members of the ACCTS Clinical and Operational Subgroup, Caroline is supporting the development of ACCTS nationally.
