I currently work as a Consultant Physiotherapist in Critical Care in Morriston Hospital in Swansea and an Honorary Associate Professor in Emergency Medicine Research at Swansea University Medical School. I am the Research Lead for the Welsh Intensive Care Society and have recently been appointed co-speciality lead for Injuries and Emergencies Research in Wales, by Health and Care Research Wales. I am the Director of Epidemiological Research for the Welsh Centre of Emergency Medicine Research based at Morriston Hospital. My main research interest is the management of blunt chest wall trauma and I have recently completed the STUMBL Trial, which was supported by an RfPPB grant from Health and Care Research Wales. The overall aim of my research work is to introduce a prognostic model to assist in the management of blunt chest wall trauma patients in the Emergency Department. I am in the fortunate position to have been awarded a Clinical Research Time Award from Welsh Government.
