Deva graduated from Chengalpattu Medical College, India and has a postgraduate degree in Anaesthesia from Madras Medical College, Chennai, India and undertook training in Anaesthesia in the UK and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists, London (FRCA). After completing his anaesthetic training in various hospitals in the North East of England, he specialised in Intensive care and obtained a joint CCT in Anaesthesia and Intensive care. Subsequently, he completed a fellowship in advanced critical care including trauma at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, Canada. He holds a Master’s degree (MSc) in evidence-based medicine awarded by Teesside University, Middlesbrough and a certificate in medical education awarded by Durham University, Durham, UK. He has also completed the European Diploma in Intensive Care (EDIC). Currently, he is the chief of critical care at Dr Kamakshi Memorial Hospital, Chennai, India.
He is the national lead for REMAP CAP in India and a member of IRIS; India Registry for IntenSive Care
