Fiona Kelly bio for ICS SOA Belfast 2022
Fiona Kelly has been a consultant in anaesthesia and intensive care medicine in Bath for 12 years. She is a full-time clinician and has previously held the roles of ICM faculty tutor in Bath plus ICM deputy TPD in the Severn Deanery. She was airway lead in Bath for eight years and co-led the implementation of universal videolaryngoscopy during that time.
Fiona was the consultant in charge during an ICU fire in Bath in 2011. Following that event, she chaired the ICS/Association of Anaesthetists’ fire and emergency evacuation guidelines published in 2020, and became interested in staff wellbeing and recovery from potentially traumatic events. She is currently lead consultant for ICU staff wellbeing in Bath and a member of the Association of Anaesthetists’ Wellbeing Working Party.
Fiona is chair of the Difficult Airway Society/Association of Anaesthetists’ Human Factors and Ergonomics guideline group and a member of the RCoA unrecognised oesophageal intubation working party.
