Rum Thomas has been a Consultant in Paediatric Intensive Care at Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust since 2009.
She is keen to ensure that children and young people with life-limiting conditions get the best from life. In her role as Clinical Lead of the Paediatric Critical Care Operational Delivery Network Yorkshire and the Humber (South), she has facilitated the development of a system to promote this.
Rum’s other clinical interests include diabetic ketoacidosis. She has co-authored national guidelines for transition and diabetic ketoacidosis.
Her other roles are promoting Patient Safety and Quality in her position as Deputy Medical Director at Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust.
