The ACPRC was originally established in 1980, and with over 1,700 members is one of the largest professional networks of physiotherapists in the UK. Each year, the ACPRC publishes the only journal dedicated to Respiratory Physiotherapy, a Respiratory Review, and a monthly e-newsletter with all of the latest updates in Respiratory Care. The committee also delivers a wide range of short courses, a bi-annual conference, and support members with a wide range of general enquiries.
Since 2016, the four core pillars of the ACPRC have been:
- Connecting People
- Sharing Knowledge and Skills
- Research and Best Practice
- Leadership and Innovation
The ACPRC is run by an elected committee of members who support the organisation on a voluntary basis. The committee itself is made up of a wide range of specialist physiotherapists, many of whom are leading figures in their area of expertise.
